Per your request the following is my testimony to the help I received from TBTC to date.
I had been steadily putting on weight for the past four or five years until I got to the weight that I was at when I checked into TBTC.  At that time the pain in my joints was so severe due to authorities and the weight I was carrying that I could not be on my feet for my than 5 minutes because the pain was so excruciating.  I had doctor’s notes for work to not be on my feet for more than 1 hour.  I was now pretty desperate to lose the weight.  I originally had made up my mind to get the gastric band.  I found that my insurance would not cover it so I made plans to go to MX to get it done as they will do it for 1/10 the cost.  I shared my plans with a friend (Mari Brenaman) at a bible study who told me that she had two friends who lost over 75 lbs at TBTC and encouraged me to go to the free intro classes that they had so I called and found the next one scheduled and attended.
Well, after the class I decided to give it a try.  I checked in in July weighing 346 lbs.  I had a vacation to Portland OR & Northern CA planned that week so I went on vacation. Here are some pics of me at that time.

When I returned from vacation I checked into TBTC and started the program. I found the staff very serious about the discipline and accountability. I found the meals and shakes to be very satisfying and soon realized that there was plenty (all most too much) to keep me from being hungry which was my biggest fear… it made it easy to be compliant with the program. As far as PA was concerned, I still could not walk but found swimming and riding a bike was good exercise to meet the require PA for the program.

After I lsot the first 50 lbs I found that I could go for short walks enduring some pain. After 75 lbs lose I found that I could go for extended walks up to an hour so I started adding that to may routine (walking in the malls for an hour 2-3 time a week and ½ hour/day at noon)

I hit the 100lbs lost mark in March (2013) and went on vacation to PR where I was able to freely walk about and keep up with my 29 year old daughter (Jess). Something I thought I’d never be able to do again. I even hiked down a very steep incline ½ hour to the waterfalls in the rain forest and back out 40 min without taking a break, keeping up with Jess all the way. Here are some pics from that vacation.

I still have 50 lbs to go and am pressing on and looking forward to those lighter days…Thank you TBTC, Doc. Gaglione, Kaitlin, LeCardi, and staff!!
